Israel Foodies helps you find kosher restaurants in Israel. You can use the app without an account. This page explains what we collect when you do sign in or use certain features, and what we never do.

Your account

To sign in, you give us your email address, and we send you a one-time code. You can add a name if you like. We use your email only to sign you in and to answer messages you send us. We don't send newsletters.

What you save

Your lists, your Foodie bucket list and the places you mark as "I've been" are stored with your account so they're there on any phone you sign in on. They're private to you.

Messages you send us

When you use Contact or report a problem, we keep your message, your name and your email so we can read it and reply. The message is also emailed to us.

Anonymous usage stats

The app counts things like which screens are opened, what is searched and which buttons are tapped, so we can see what's useful. These stats aren't linked to your account and never include your name, email or exact location. You can turn them off in Settings → Share usage stats.

Your location

Only if you allow it. The app uses it to show how far places are and what's near you. When you sort a search by distance, your location is sent with that search so the results come back in order. It isn't saved or linked to your account.

Maps and directions

The map is provided by Google Maps (or Apple Maps), which have their own privacy policies. Directions open Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze, whichever you pick.

Who helps us run it

Supabase (our database and sign-in), Resend (sending email), PostHog in the EU (the anonymous stats), Google Maps Platform (the map and place details) and Cloudflare (this website). They handle data only to provide their service to us.

What we never do

No ads, no selling or sharing your data, and no tracking you across other apps or websites. This website uses no cookies and no stats.

Deleting your account

In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. It deletes your account, your lists, your "I've been" places and your messages, right away.
